Well, we didn't exactly hit the heights this time round. The summer break has seriously buggered our collective ability to pass and shoot, so while we didn't really concede any more goals than usual our shooting was well down and it showed. The final showdown against Abingdon to decide the tour winner was a bit of a damp squib, ending 2-1 to our tormentors in Orange and featuring a whole heap of dross from players like me who should know better.

On the plus side, a squad of 18 was a splendid turn out for this late in the summer and bodes extremely well for the coming season. It was Matt and Angharad's turn to make their debuts in royal blue and both done brilliant innit? We look forward to seeing more of Angharad's flying interceptions and equally entertaining near misses. Aidan would also like to point out that after scoring in two consecutive tournaments, now his new aim is to score a goal in a game where it actually matters.
