Another monster trip to Abingdon for the start of the 2005 Oxfordshire tour saw 16 Cardiff City players take to the court against Exeter, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Woking and the hosts. An extremely well-run tournament which easily overcame the rather variable weather used a round robin format for the 8 teams present, and although it meant no final, more games are always welcome.
One of our mixed ability teams struggled a bit, defeating both Oxford sides and Woking, but coming up short against the others - while Cardiff '1' romped through the tournament, losing only once to Exeter and setting up a winner takes all clash with Abingdon. Yet again though, Abingdon's outdoor side proved just too much for Cardiff - the match finished 4-4 (and with Cardiff be-moaning a decent looking goal scrubbed off for defended) and the victors on the day were Abingdon. There was also a consecutive penalties scored competition which some of the chaps duly embarrassed themselves with. Congrats to Milton Keynes Katie who beat the combined score from Josh, Taff, Ceri and Lee.
