With the sights and sounds of the Korflite League drifting over Roath Rec, along with some very tasty barbequed delights, the competitive nature of Korf really took hold. It has been great to see new people catching on to different skills and really having a go throughout the league. The improvement each week has been fantastic.

Massive congratulations to the Knight Riders team who have won the inaugular Cardiff Korflite Summer League!
After a wash-out the previous week, last Wednesday’s weather was kinder. This allowed us to complete the Korflite league and crown this year’s winners, who korfed hard to beat the opposition!

Some of the teams have started playing their round 2 matches last Wednesday (29th June). For the remaining of the teams, their round 2 matches will start this Wednesday 6th July.

The second week of games and the standard is getting much much better, all the teams involved are thoroughly enjoying a weekly trip to Roath Park. Each week is providing everyone an opportunity for everyone to get socialising and do a little exercise. I am sure we would all be getting a little fitter if we didn’t have a selection of cakes to choose from.
Five years of watching korfball and it has taken me this long to get involved in playing a game. The Korflite League has proven a real success in raising the profile of the sport to so many different people. As the Reem Team captain I am having difficulty getting everyone some game time. The numbers in our squad have doubled since the first week and I am sure they will grow even bigger now the word is out.

Korflite League Blog
The Korflite league is now in full swing and each week over 70 people – many who have never tried Korfball before – are getting involved in round robin matches.
Each week, a different player will give their experience of playing in the league.

Cardiff KorfLite League Fixtures
Teams have been split up into two pools for the first half of the league. Once all the games have been played, the top three teams of each pool will form the top league and the bottom three teams form the bottom league.
